Having read the conversation between the Coens and Cormac McCarthy I wonder if the Brothers no longer stand by this film.

It's hard to tell whether he's being modest or perhaps they're not keen on the film any more because the influences are too blatant.

I think they stand by it, hell they MUST it is truly a masterpiece. I think about 90% of what the Coens say is tongue in cheek. Also, they don't seem to be ones to blow their own trumpet, they're self deprecating which I like a lot.
