. . .I just cannot get into this one. It's too bad because I love Tom Hanks and JK Simmons and I love love love the Coens. Ladykillers is my least favorite.

I sat through the entire thing once. Did not like it. I gave it another chance. Still, nothing. If it's on the TV, I'll try but usually wind up turning it off.

It happens, I guess. Like Billy Bob says in Bad Santa - "They can't all be winners"

i agree. love the coens, jk simmons...not so much tom hanks, but the movie didn't really do it for me. there were bits that were hilarious, and irma p hall was fantastic, but the movie as a whole felt more like an imitation of the coens than the real thing. still it's better than most of the garbage that comes out nowadays. it was good enough to tape on vhs ( which i did), but i didn't buy the dvd as i have done with every other coen movie.

Lady Killers is worth the watch the dialogue is hilarious and the screenplay held up quite nicely. However as you say not a patch on Fargo or Miller's Crossing or No Country or comedies like Raising Arizona or O Brother
