I cannot believe it was 20 years ago. My friend and I had nothing to do one Saturday afternoon. It was a nice day and we went for a drive and found ourselves at the movie theater looking for something to see. He suggested RA, saying that it got some very good reviews. It was the funniest thing that my 17-year-old mind had ever taken in and it still makes me crack up laughing every time I see it. I knew then and there that Joel and Ethan Coen were going to make a lot of great movies.

It was a day that I will not forget.

My first was actually Miller's Crossing but, at the time, I didn't realise who made the movie. My dad had it and Blood Simple on video, it wasn't till I fell in love with Fargo that I connected the dots which eventually led to me putting together the first version of this site.

It would be interesting to hear how other people found the Coens.

my friend told me to watch fargo for the sole reason of seeing someone being put through a wood chipper. i loved it, and it was the film that got me interested in not only the coens, but movies in general.

of course the irony of it is that the same friend who got me interested in these amazing movies has one of the worst tastes in films i have ever seen.
