I feel this is Clooney's best role.

It's funny how a lot of people out there just do not like George Clooney as an actor. No reason, just don't like him. One guy that I work with (Ed) was going on and on about how much he hates Clooney, from his days on ER to anything he does now. When asked to give specifics, Ed just says he doesn't know why, he just doesn't like him. Of course he's never seen OBWAT (or Three Kings or From Dusk Till Dawn or Syriana for that matter). So I tell Ed that he should look at OBWAT and put aside his Clooney prejudice.

He didn't.

Sucks for him.

It's understandable, though. I hate Angelina Jolie. Her freakishly ginormous lips ruin every movie that she is in. Seriously, she can put on lipstick with a paint-roller. I still give her movies a chance though, just so I can be justified when I say I do not like her acting (or her mouth). Ed has no excuse to hate Clooney. Hate for the sake of hating is just not right.

Clooney is amazing in this movie. Everett thinks he's soooo smart but he's a dumb ass that uses big words. I love his diatribe on how "woman is the most fiendish intrument of torture ever devised to bedevil the days of man" - it's genius in its writing and delivery. He plays the same kind of fool in Intolerable Cruelty too, indeed those two films he has termed parts one and two of his Coen brothers "idiot trilogy" with the forthcoming Hail Ceasar as the third.

I agree 100% on Jolie too. I haven't liked her since Girl, Interrupted. I dunno what it is, I just can't warm to her. I don't think she's as attractive as people say either. Dunno what it is.
